GRP traffic & road safety products

GRP (glass reinforced polyester) flexes instead of breaking; the colour is in the material, not in a coating.

GRP traffic & road safety products: the products

GRP roadside flexible delineator post

A roadside delineator post is the most basic piece of equipment telling a driver where the asphalt ends. It is set at regular intervals along interurban roads, on the exit of bends and along shoulders.

It works by its body in daylight and by its reflector at night. Where the snow plough blade and the sliding vehicle strike, a flexing body is preferred over concrete.

Modular GRP anti-glare screen

The modular GRP anti-glare screen is mounted on top of the concrete barrier on motorways and link roads to stop the headlights of oncoming traffic from affecting the driver.

Vertical GRP blades set at an angle along a continuous GRP rail cut off the oncoming headlights. Light and modular, it is easy to install; the module length matches the precast barrier element.

GRP snow fence

The GRP snow fence is installed along the roadside to help reduce wind-driven snow reaching the road. GRP louvre panels are placed between galvanised steel posts.

Two standard heights are available (1.50 and 2.30 m); other heights and lengths are made to order.

The −30 °C impact test and galvanising values in the manufacturer’s datasheet are requirements; product/batch test and coating reports are verified for the quotation scope.

GRP sign-board paneling profile

The GRP sign paneling profile is used to build the panel of the information signs that guide traffic on the road network.

Profiles 20, 30 and 60 cm high join one above the other with a tongue-and-groove joint; the required sign size is built from these profiles and the reflective sheeting is bonded on top.

GRP resists corrosion and is used with confidence where temperature swings are large; being light, it is easy to transport and install.

How to choose

What this family shares is the material: glass-reinforced polyester made by pultrusion.

The body flexes under impact instead of breaking, carries its colour in the compound rather than in a coating, does not rust and does not conduct electricity.

The choice starts with the job at the roadside.

The GRP roadside flexible delineator post makes the edge line readable — by its body in daylight and by its reflector at night — and flexes back into place after an impact.

The GRP snow fence stops wind-driven snow before it reaches the road; its GRP louvre panels between galvanised posts do not rust.

The modular GRP anti-glare screen sits on the concrete barrier and cuts the oncoming headlights. The GRP sign paneling profile builds the panel of an information sign from interlocking profiles.

The material is tested in one language: water absorption EN ISO 62, chemical resistance EN ISO 175, flame resistance EN ISO 1066, flexural tensile strength EN ISO 178.
